Fragment of a discussion

Sociologists & anthropologists are vital for context.

When we get over the first 10 minutes of how terribly new we are, we’ll find that humans haven’t changed one bit – our emotional, biological & social needs have not changed – we’ve just developed the world beyond ourselves – we need help already.

The wars happening around us are nothing new – nor are the politics. The only new thing is our disconnect from each other & environment – we act as if food grows in shops & we can eat technology: as if the next generation is an inconvenience and babies are a side-effect.

Pull out the tyrant & all the newly-freed set upon one another for ascendency. All races, and all places. It’s sad, but it’s how we appear to roll.”
